One of the things I absolutely love about holistic wellness is how simple it can be. Somewhere along the way, “holistic” started to sound like a complicated lifestyle — you know, the kind that requires you to only grow your own herbs, grind your own flour, and meditate at sunrise every single morning.

Now don’t get me wrong — there’s nothing wrong with that. In fact, I’ve been eyeing a flour mill myself lately plus a few more things I've yet to tell my husband I've making a list of. But that’s a post for another day.


The beautiful truth is that holistic living doesn’t have to look one specific way. It’s not all or nothing. You don’t have to change your entire life overnight to start feeling better. Sometimes, it’s as simple as adding a few natural helpers into your daily routine — a sprinkle of herbs here, a cup of tea there — and watching how those small things begin to shift your energy and your mindset.


Here are a few of my favorite herbal add-ins that keep me grounded, balanced, and ready to take on whatever the week brings:

🌿 Ashwagandha — My go-to when life feels like a marathon. It helps calm the body’s stress response and supports steady energy levels (perfect for those busy workdays or endless to-do lists).

🍋 Lemon Balm — I call this my “peace in a cup.” It’s naturally soothing for the nerves, helps ease anxiety, and promotes focus — a total game changer when you need to find your calm in the middle of chaos.

💚 Peppermint — I add this one to everything. It’s packed with antioxidants, helps ease bloating, and gives a refreshing pick-me-up without the crash. A quick peppermint tea in the afternoon? Instant reset.

🌸 Thyme — The underrated hero! Thyme supports both respiratory and digestive health and boosts your immune system. I love adding it to soups or teas when I’m feeling run down or just need a little extra support.


Depending on how I’m feeling, I’ll toss these herbs into teas, smoothies, or even pop them into homemade capsules. I let my body lead the way — some days I crave calm, others I need energy — and that’s okay.

The goal isn’t perfection, it’s balance. You don’t have to live off green juice or meditate for an hour a day to live a holistic life. You just need to make small, intentional choices that support your peace, your body, and your joy. 🌞
